I purchased this product last June, and I waited until now to write my report because I wanted to see what happens when the ink monitor indicates empty.
I am pleased to report that this system had no problem at all handling that. (My previous CIS system, a different brand, on a Canon printer, failed to reset the ink level and rendered the printer inoperable.)
Using an Epson workforce 545, when the ink monitor was indicating the black was about halfway done, it stopped printing and displayed a message saying "Cartridge Not Recognized". I opened up the printer, held down the little white button for about 5 seconds, powered the printer off and then powered it up again, and then it continued printing as though nothing it happened. The ink monitor now presented all four cartridges being completely full.
The installation was fairly straightforward, although it did require a cutout be made to a nonessential part inside the printer in order to allow access of the ink hoses.
All in all, I'm extremely satisfied, and would not hesitate to do it again.
